So I started my vegan friendly blog this morning…
I originally started it as a place I could hoard all of my favourite vegan recipes but I thought, why not share them!
So I hope to have this blog flourish as a place where people can share recipes, tips ad tricks and I also want to use it to teach people how to grow their own fruit and vegetables.
So yeah…

Make your own mini-cupcakes.
I am totally stealing this idea for Granger’s Bakes.

My first batch of cupcakes ever.
Vanilla cupcake with cherry buttercream (real cherry pieces), sugar orange slices and pink sugar on top.
I remember making up the recipe as I went along. Thankfully, everyone enjoyed them.
I think this is what spurred me on to making more.

These were the second batch of cupcakes I ever made.
And the first time I had ever done rainbow ones.
I was rather impressed with myself.

I made a batch of random rainbow cupcakes when Kelly came round last.
I decorated them with sugar stars and sugar I had tinted blue.
They were fun and Kelly enjoyed them. I just wanted to use the last of the leftover ingrediants from Billy’s birthday.

This was a beast of a cupcake I made for Billy for his birthday awhile back.
It was rainbow inside with a typical vanilla buttercream, except tinted neon pink and green.
I remember taking this to The Met Lounge inside a cupcake holder and asking ym dear friend, Dave, to store it in one of the fridges behind the bar, until I saw Billy.
As soon as he arrived, I dragged him outside with the cupcake, lit a single candle I had bought with me and sung at the top of my lungs, Happy Birthday to Billy.
It was rather sweet at the time but then I proceeded to force him to eat it all before going back inside The Met. He struggled, a lot.

Orange sponge cupcakes with Amaretto and dark chocolate ganache.
These were a bugger to make. The ganache took ages to make and once made, it melted quickly.
It was completely worth all the trouble though.
They went down a storm at home and at work.
Definately for adults only though.

Hello.
It’s been awhile huh?
I haven’t actually been baking a lot recently, I’ve had a lot going on recently.
But rest assured my little cakey lovers, I’m getting back into it all again.
Tonight I spent a couple of hours making these lovely Rudolph cupcakes.
I used dark chocolate frosting for his fur and M’n’M beans for his eyes and classic red nose.
His antlers were very tricky to make.
I had to cut up little pretzels in half and shape them. They kept breaking but I kept at it! I melted some 70% chocolate and dipped them in, one by one, before getting rid of the excess and letting them dry.
I used salted pretzels as it compliments the taste of the dark chocolate quite beautifully.
Hopefully the guys at work will like them. I tried a new sponge recipe, though these came out a little heavier than intended.
Well, try and try again.

Never seen Walker cross the living room so quickly before.
I would take photos but rather too lazy to go find my camera.
Maybe next time.

I’ve always wanted to own a tea shop and a bakery, ever since I was a child. I dreamed about it and hosted many an imaginery party.
Now I am older. I’m in a job I enjoy but don’t want to do for the rest of my life. I live with two friends, both guys and I love cooking and baking for them. I love cooking and baking for everyone. My poor work colleagues get batches of my baking most of the time.
I’ve decided I should start working on what I want to do for the rest of my life.
I want to be a hostess, I want to bake for people and create new treats.
So this will be a blog of my progress.
My research, my plans, my successes and failures.
This blog will go all the way with me, until the day I open up my glass doors to the public.
Wish me luck.
